Another Megalithic temple is that of Borg-in-Nadur, which is situated at Birzebbuga (in the southern part of Malta), on the right-hand side of the road leading from Ghar Dalam to Birzebbuga bay. This temple was built in the last phase of the Temple period, in Neolithic (New Stone Age) Times. Later, archaeologists have found evidence, which shows that the Neolithic population became extinct and the islands were uninhabited. Archaeologists think that this could be due to no agricultural produce, or to civil warfare because of temple piques, or due to the Neolithic population being murdered by war-like tribes.

Later, according to the available evidence found by archaeologists, Bronze-Age colonists who came from the south of Italy invaded the islands. These Bronze-Age people lived in warlike times and dwelt in fortified villages, which were normally sited on hill-tops. This is the main reason why they probably used the Borg in-Nadur Temple, since the latter temple is found on a hill-top and is protected naturally from the back by a valley and from the front by the sea. These Bronze Age people (used tools made of bronze) made use of the Borg in-Nadur Temple (which was built in the Megalithic period), but surrounded it by a fortified megalithic (made of large boulders) wall, which was a characteristic of Bronze Age People. This fortified megalithic wall (it can be seen in the given photo), which is about 55m long and extends in a South North direction, is the main evidence, which proves that Bronze-Age people used this temple. In those days, warfare may have been the result of invaders attempting to establish themselves on the islands, or Malta may have been divided into a series of village territories and battles could have been fought between competing communities.

Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of the three apses (semi-circular rooms) of the temple. Beyond the main entrance, there is a wide elliptical area about 25 m long and 15 m wide. As for now there is only left a Trilithon Entrance.
