A Geography lesson on Mt. Etna

What is the best way to conclude the topic Volcanoes?

A first-hand experience is the best way for students to learn. This out-of-class fieldwork activity on the most active and highest volcano in Europe was such an example. Getting to Mt. Etna was not easy as it lies north of Catania next to the town of Nicolosi also known as the gateway to the volcano. Stopping mid-way on the volcano at 1,600m above sea level the students had the opportunity to explore the extinct Sylvester craters and conclude the topic by having an interactive lesson there.
