At San Andrea School every student belongs to a House. The Houses are:

•  The House of Aragon ( Aragonese ) – colour Green

•  The House of Castille ( Castillians ) – colour Blue

•  The House of Provence ( Provencals ) – colour Red

•  The House of Auvergne ( Auvergnese ) – colour Yellow

Each House has a House Master. These are:

Aragon  - Mr Mark Sciberras

Castille - Ms Elaine Bajada

Provence - Ms Sharon Abela

Auvergne - Ms Lara Muscat

One of the older students will be elected House Captain for each House.

Siblings will retain the same colour as their older siblings. Our students are given the right to have their own children retain the same House as they belonged to. If both parents are old Andreans, the children will have an option to choose their House.

The House system aims to motivate our children to improve in their academics and in their physical education skills. Children gain points for participating and winning in House tournaments of basketball, volleyball, handball and football. They will also gain points for participating and winning in athletics, gymnastics, walkathon and cross-country.

Students will gain points for their House for improvement in their academics. Points will be given as the children improve from one assessment to the other. Each mark will be changed to a grade and then the grades are compared. The children will gain a point for every grade improvement. They will lose points when they move down in grade. Therefore if a student moves from C to A he/she will gain 2 points and 1 point is lost if a student moves from B to C. A child who retains his A will gain 2 points

Here the emphasis is on improvement. Another way to gain points is by showing extraordinary performance in improvement, perseverance and effort in academics. On the social side, children can gain points by showing exceptional kindness towards each other.

The students who gain the most points for their respective House, will be awarded a certificate of achievement. The student of the year is chosen every year and his/her name will be inscribed in gold on the School Honours Board which is located in the Lobby Area. It will remain there for posterity's sake and tradition.
