Extra Curricular Activities - 13/10/2010

AFTER HOURS

With both parents having to work and pick up the children from school, take them to piano, ballet, private lesson or football practice or any other sport, it becomes harder everyday to manage between the child's active life after school and the parents' working life, leaving little space to spend some quality family time or build a strong rapport with one's child which stems form healthy communication.

The Extra Curricular Department at San Andrea School has come up with a dynamic idea that might be the solution to every family's problem regarding time management that parents face every day due to today's rushed lifestyle.

This programme puts all the child's activities one tries to fit in an afternoon after a long day of lessons under one roof, on the San Andrea School premises including hours dedicated for homework allowing the child to do his/her homework.

The programme will commence right after the end of school day daily, from 3 pm to 6.30 pm.

The students will have a prepared healthy meal following strict nutritional values which promotes a healthy lifestyle. After a day of lessons this will allow the student to socialise and recharge their batteries for the second part of their educational day.

The students will be allotted an amount of time to start and finish the school homework. Then each student will proceed to the activities chosen on offer in the programme. For the art sections, there is drama, arts and crafts and photography.  The students will also have lessons in catechism.

Supervision will be provided throughout the running of the programme and each activity will be led by fully qualified and professional qualifications in their respective field. In addition, a specialisation programme in the following sports will be offered;

  • Football
  • Athletics
  • Tennis
  • Swimming

With such an exclusive programme, students who feel they want to focus on one or more of these sport disciplines are free to do so.

From the above, one can see that this programme gives parents the opportunity to balance one's busy lifestyle with family time, which is part and parcel of your child's education and the basis of a strong character with moral values and solid principles. It is a step further to make one's child investment in education complete. More information can be provided by calling San Andrea School on 21438800.

"Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well." Aristotle
