Independent Schools Association - 15/03/2010

ISA (Independent Schools’ Association) Official Launch

The current juncture of education in Malta has provided the backdrop for 14 Independent schools to come togetherand set up a non-profit making voluntary organisation with the aim of voicing the ideas, ideals, aspirations and concerns of the Independent Sector of education in Malta.  The ISA (Independent Schools Association) represents a sector which has always been at the forefront of education locally and which, according to last year’s figures, provides an education to 10.8 per cent of all children of schooling age in Malta.  Drawing on years of experience in providing a holistic education to thousands of successful Maltese school children, the Association intends to be a key player within the local educational sector.

The founder Members of the Association are Al Batool School, San Andrea School, San Anton School, St. Catherine’s High School, Chiswick House School, St. Edward’s College, Garendon, Little Angels School, St. Martin’s College, St. Michael Foundation, St. Michael School, Noddy’s, Newark and Thi Lakin.  Other schools within the Independent Sector are currently in the process of becoming Associate Members of the Association.

The ISA was officially launched last Tuesday, 9th March at St. James Cavalier, Valletta in the presence of The Minister of Education; Hon. Dolores Cristina.
