Punic Tombs Clean-Up Activity, 30th April 2014
On Wednesday 30th April 2014 San Andrea Senior School History Option students had the opportunity to take part in a hands-on activity. Instead of the usual history lesson in class, these students participated in the clean-up of the Punic remains that are located in the school’s car park. During this activity, our students had a closer look at the remains of these Punic tombs which enabled them to learn more about them and also to appreciate more the need to take care of our national heritage. Ms. Elaine Bajada, teacher of Biology, also joined this activity with her Grade 10 Biology students. Ms. Elaine Bajada explained the flora that we encountered during the clean-up of these tombs. This clean-up activity preceded another important event for San Andrea School which was the unveiling of two new information panels right outside the Punic remains. These information panels are very important since they explain to anyone visiting our school the significance of these tombs.
